An Indian cultural experience
The V&A is running an exhibition on the culture and creative output of the Mughal Court (c. 1560 -1660) until 5 May 2025. This extraordinary collection covers the reigns of emperors such as Akbar, Jahangir and Shah Jahan, showcasing paintings, clothing and jewels from this prosperous period. Once you’ve admired some of the era’s most beautiful artefacts, why not search ‘authentic Indian restaurant near me’ and head over to Little India for an exquisite Indian meal?
Music and comedy
Each year the Royal Albert Hall hosts concerts and comedy in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust. The 2025 series kicks off on Monday 24 March and features world famous bands and artists such as The Who, The Corrs, Micky Flanagan and GK Barry. Other musical acts appearing throughout the spring include international jazz sensation Gregory Porter, pop-rock superstar Annie Lennox and celebrated pop prince Gary Barlow.
The natural world
Celebrating its 60th anniversary, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History Museum is a chance to see some of the world’s best images of our natural world. Whether you love big cats or tiny insects, this series of photographs displays the stunning beauty and fragility of wildlife – not to mention the talent of the people behind the pictures. It’s complemented this year by a special exhibition, Nature in Focus, which explores the role photography has played in advancing natural history.
Dress to impress
Kensington Palace opens its Dress Code exhibition on 13 March 2025, showcasing a collection of never-before-seen royal and court fashion pieces. From garments worn by Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II to an extremely rare Japanese court suit dating from the early 20th century, those who are fascinated by fashion will have plenty to feast their eyes upon.
Art from India
On 20 March 2025, the Serpentine North welcomes Arpita Singh’s first solo exhibition outside of India. Singh’s paintings draw upon her emotional and psychological state, as well as referencing Bengali folk art and stories. From large-scale oils to intimate watercolours and meticulous ink drawings, the exhibition showcases work from the 1960s to recent years, exploring themes of motherhood, vulnerability and violence.
